    Default iPhone Navigation App

So I'm looking for a Japan navigation/gps app for my iPhone...anyone know of any good (and relatively cheap) ones? Doesn't matter if it's in Japanese or English...I figure it'd be the next best thing after those flashy systems they all have in their cars..
    Thanks in advance :-)
yes, i can damn well use hashi ok?!

    The built in maps system???

Seems to work well for most things.

What features are you looking for in a navigation app?

something that can be relied on and has instant re-routing with a decent turn by turn display?

I would assume Navigation, which is why he's looking for a navigation app.

You mean like the build in Map program?

Or do you need one that talks out loud to you?

I mean something that is useful and resembles a car navi rather than just google maps on a tiny screen

    Like the Maps program?

And wouldn't any GPS system on an iPhone suffer from a tiny screen?

Again, what specific features are you looking for?

How about something with a voice that gives directions, a big arrow, and a map that moves as your location changes? And I guess something that isn't too dumb. I haven't used GPS much before but I guess some are smarter than others?

From my experiences a cellphone is in no way a worthy replacement for a real GPS unit when driving.

Wouldn't using an Iphone whilst driving be extremely dangerous, and probably illegal even if you have a mount for your dashboard?

I'm actually looking for something similar to this in Japan for Android. Turn by Turn directions. Voice Prompts. POV and Aeirial maps and be able to reroute fast.

Maps doesn't do turn by turn, nor voice commands, it doesn't automatically reroute.

ini was right in his first comment.

Google has a turn by turn voice navigation system in Beta. But not in Japan.

Probably only for jail broken iPhones if it is. I doubt it since it's still in Beta.
